What's it like on a Lifestyle Liveaboard Vacation?

What's it like on a Lifestyle Liveaboard Vacation?

What do you get when you combine 20 open minded adults, 10 fun loving crew members, a 100 foot dive boat, a handful of pool noodles, then add in ocean waves, warm sun and an incredible reef? Our Lifestyle Liveaboard is what you get!

We just returned from our dive boat take over and let me tell you, it was one of my favorite vacations ever! We had a combination of 12 divers and 8 non divers in the mix on board and needed to get a bit creative to ensure an awesome vacation for all!

First off, the AquaCat staff was absolutely phenomenal! They were more than accommodating to our group. They normally do 5 dives per day and only a couple excursions during the week. We altered the normal schedule a tiny bit, dropping to 4 dives per day and adding in an excursion every day. This allowed our group a few choices – beach or diving anyone? Most of the divers even took advantage of at least 1 or 2 beach excursions. We had near perfect weather for the week, very little rain, warm temps and a near continuous breeze.

We were able to offer daily beach trips for anyone that wanted to go. We had an evening bonfire on a deserted beach with rum punch flowing. We swam with the pigs and fed the iguanas. Several learned how to paddle board or kayak for the first time! The snorkeling was awesome for those that didn't dive with trips to the grotto and the Bahamas Land and Sea Park. First Mate Sam dubbed the non divers his Naked Noodlers! Sam commented that they had never put all the noodles to use at the same time on the AquaCat before, but what fun it was!

Sea of Fish

The diving? Well, to put it mildly, it was amazing! Due to tides and currents, we were forced to stay to the more shallow dive sites, but every site was incredible and the dive masters were top notch! We dove sites that were mostly 25-50 ft depth, so we were afforded a longer bottom time and less need for safety stops. The reef was incredibly healthy, full of color and the coral heads were some of the most beautiful I've ever seen! The assortment of fish and marine life was phenomenal! Sea turtles, nurse sharks, lobsters and reef shark were plentiful! The drift dives were such fun, the night dives amazing and the shark dive impressive! Add in the Washing Machine dive and it was a near perfect dive week!

The down time on the boat was also great! The top level sun deck was equipped with many lounge chairs and a self serve bar. Snacks were offered all day long in the salon. The meals by Chef Kelly were amazing and no one went hungry. We were even able to enjoy the Perseid Meteor Shower 2 nights in a row with clear skys and impressive meteors seen! The cabins were clean and comfortable with plenty of storage space available.

All in all, it was an absolutely amazing vacation and we hope you'll join us for our next Lifestyle Liveaboard Sept 7-14th, 2019!
