tenerife canary islands

Tenerife is the largest of Spain’s Canary Islands

It's dominated by Mt. Teide, a dormant volcano that is Spain's tallest peak.

Tenerife may be best known for its Carnaval de Santa Cruz, a huge pre-Lent festival with parades, music, dancing and colorful costumes. The island has many beaches (with sands from yellow to black) and resort areas, including Los Cristianos and Playa de las Américas.book now

Here are a few things you might want to look into seeing

Find yourself caught up in the mysteries surrounding the ancient Pyramids of Guimar. First, however, travel to the town of La Esperanza to visit its fascinating Museum of Aloe Vera. Delve into the healing properties of this natural wonder and learn about the specialty products produced on the Canary Islands. From here, journey through the Esperanza Forest to the Ethnographic Park of the Pyramids of Guimar. This site offers up more questions than it does answers. For instance, why do these stepped pyramids so resemble those found in Mexico, Peru and Mesopotamia? How old are they? Who built them and how did they align these great structures with the summer and winter solstices? Explore the archeological ruins and tour the onsite museum that digs deeper into possible theories regarding the pyramids. Afterwards, enjoy some free time to explore the park and, perhaps, come up with some theories of your own.

Experience the majesty of Tenerife on a leisurely drive to the volcanic realm of Las Cañadas del Teide National Park. Your journey to this UNESCO World Heritage Site begins with a drive through verdant pine and eucalyptus forests. As you rise to an elevation of more than 7,500 feet, notice the greenery give way to the volcanic shades of red, ochre and blue. Las Cañadas del Teide springs from an ancient crater, spanning some 30 miles in circumference, and representing one of the finest examples of volcanism in the world. Witness the unique flora and fauna that thrives in the rich soil. Gaze upon Mount Teide, rising a staggering 12,200 feet overhead. Stroll through lunar lava fields, and stand at the Roques de Garcia viewpoint for a panoramic perspective of “God’s Finger”, Tenerife’s most famous natural landmark. Enjoy a comfortable trip into Tenerife’s most rugged terrain on this eye-opening excursion.

Discover the sights, sounds and flavors of Santa Cruz on this walking tour through the city streets. Join a local guide on a tour that takes you through the Plaza España, a favorite local gathering spot dotted with historic landmarks and filled with tales of the past. Crisscross narrow streets to find the Church of San Francisco and stroll among the romantic gardens of the Plaza Principe. Continue into the older part of town to witness its emblematic architecture, including the Guimera Theatre and the Church of the Conception. Make your way to a local bodega for a tasting of “Papas Arrugadas”, wrinkled potatoes served with mojo sauces, as well as “Almogrote”, a traditional cheese spread. Next, visit a tapas bar and partake in the time-honored tradition of sharing small plates. Enjoy croquets, mini burritos, and Canarian cheeses paired with local wine. Afterwards, enjoy free time for a little shopping.

Enjoy a wonderfully authentic Spanish wine and food experience at the renowned Bodegas Monje. Held in the same family for five generations, you’ll meet today’s owner, Felipe Monje, and find yourself instantly captivated by his passion for winemaking. Learn about the time-honored traditions that have been the very fabric of Felipe’s life since childhood.

Naughty N'awlins Has Been Rescheduled

Naughty N'awlins Has Been Rescheduled for August 19-23, 2020

After long and careful deliberation and inclusion of our hotel partners, city and state officials, and consulting with some of the country’s top doctors and viral experts, we have made the decision to move Naughty N'awlins to August 19-23, 2020.

The one thing we keep hearing from couples that are signed up is “We are coming no matter what” and “We NEED this, after what we have been through”. It is amazing how many people have reached out to support us and our events and we really appreciate it more than you will ever know. In the end, we have decided that "The Show Must Go On" but that we need a little more time to ensure that we are incorporating the safest practices and procedures.
