The 7 Must-Know Rules Of Swinging

When you think of swinging, the first thing that comes to your mind is a bunch of old people wearing robes at an adults-only resort, drinking and messing around. Though we've been led to believe that, in reality, it's not true. Real swingers not only come in all different shapes, sizes, and age groups, but their get-togethers are highly organized events with a specific list of rules.

Since swinging involves a large group of people, naturally, there have to be a basic set of rules for everyone to follow. These rules allow you to meet swingers without feeling unsafe, letting you relax and enjoy the atmosphere. If you and your partner are thinking about attending a swingers party, there are some do's and don'ts you need to know.

Swing for the right reasons

Are you two having relationship problems? Are you wanting to try new experiences? Both you and your partner need to swing for the right reasons. If this is an experience to enhance your relationship, great. Swinging can reconnect the emotional and physical bond between two people. But if you're looking for a way out, don't use swinging as an excuse to cheat and escape from your partner.

Don't surprise your partner

Before you attend a swinger club or party, you and your partner need to sit down and have a talk. This isn't something you can surprise your partner with; it's not a birthday cake. You both need to be on the same page before doing anything. How does your partner feel about going to a swingers party? What are the boundaries? These questions must be answered if you want to have an enjoyable swinging experience. No one wants to have a fight with their partner in the middle of a swinger's party.

No means no

Many people assume swinger parties are places where everyone can get whatever they sexually desire. And to some extent, they're right. However, you cannot go up to someone and smack their ass. Before every action, you need to ask for their consent. That said, you may hear the word 'no.' When you hear this word, it means no. There's no hidden meaning. If the situation is unclear, clarify it with them.

BYOP (Bring Your Own Protection)

Some hosts do provide condoms; however, you shouldn't expect every party to provide you with protection. Everyone has different preferences when it comes to condoms. So, always bring protection. That way, you'll feel comfortable. Oh, and as an extra tip, always bring more condoms than necessary. No one wants to run out of condoms at a swingers party.

Follow the dress code

Every swinger's club or party is different. However, don't be the person who tries to look cool by dressing up for the event. If the party states explicitly it's a "no clothes" event, then respect their dress code and remove your clothes before entering.

Reconnect with your partner

At some point, you and your partner may separate and explore on your own. This is perfectly normal and healthy; however, you need to touch base with your partner throughout the evening. It's a great way to check if everything is going okay and to make sure you're both having fun. There are even some events which require couples to stay together throughout the event. Simply put, it's best you check the requirements beforehand.

Clean up after yourself

It doesn't matter who you're with or what you're doing; you need to clean up after yourself. You need to remember you're not at your house. If you make a mess, which happens, make sure to clean it up. The host will definitely appreciate your manners.

Swinger clubs and parties can be a lot of fun if you do it right. As long as you communicate with your partner and follow these rules, your next swinging event will be an unforgettable experience.
